Simon Archer, BSC is a director of photography who began his work on Doctor Who with Amy's Choice. He lit three more episodes during Matt Smith's first series, including the finale. This made him the most prolific DP in the series, since the 2010 series used more DPs than any other series in BBC Wales history.

He is only the second DP in televised Doctor Who history to be a member of the prestigious British Society of Cinematographers, at the time of his involvement with the programme.

Immediately prior to his work on Doctor Who he was the DP for block 3 of Ashes to Ashes, under the producership of Piers Wenger and Beth Willis, and much of the fourth series of Doc Martin, starring Martin Clunes.[1]
