A pandemic was the rapid transmission of a disease or virus through a population.
One example was the "black death", a pandemic of bubonic plague which spread throughout Europe in the Middle Ages. (TV: The Visitation) Another was the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020. (PROSE: Sweet Revenge)
