Dolly Bailey was the landlady and owner of the Elephant, where William Shakespeare was staying in 1599. She was a very spirited and courageous person, refusing to leave her inn even through three bouts of the plague.
After finding Shakespeare asleep, she ordered the barmaid and servant Lilith to take him to his room. Lilith turned around, revealing her true countenance, and lunged at Dolly, causing her to suffer a fatal terror-induced heart attack. (TV: The Shakespear Code)
