This template was originally designed for use only with in-universe sources that have pages on this wiki. However, it also has applications on real-world pages where citing a specific link may be desirable. The problem is that this template has not been designed to handle this and it causes issues. I have fixed these at [[User:Bongolium500/quote]]. As this template is locked, could an admin please replace this content of this page with the content of mine? :It would be great to see this improvement! It would also be nice if, when the second field is unspecified, the template could simply omit that field instead of showing a ghostly <nowiki>{{{2}}}</nowiki>; the ghosts in [[User:SOTO/Forum Archive/Help!/@comment-43874324-20200702151414/@comment-27343779-20200704141346|this comment]] are causing formatting problems when embedded at [[User:SOTO/Forum Archive/Help!]]. – [[User:NateBumber|n8]] ([[User talk:NateBumber|☎]]) 19:07, 10 May 2023 (UTC) |

no links to the page the quote is on
how about:
{{#ifeq:{{{3|{{PAGENAME}}}}}|{{PAGENAME}}||<sup class="noprint">[[{{{3|}}}|[src]]]</sup>}}
instead of:
{{#if:{{{3|}}}|<sup class="noprint">[[{{{3|}}}|[src]]]</sup>}}
or is there a better solution? -- Q1712 23:39, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
- had another idea:
showing the source written out source, in that case it would be a link ot bold text:
{{#if:{{{3|}}}|<sup>[ [[{{{3}}}]] ]</sup>}}
i know that you had xour reasons for hiding the text, but as there is a lotta work generated by reedeting quotes it may be a alternative again. looking forward to get to know your opinions -- Q1712 (talk | contribs) 15:38, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
Quotation marks too big
Please fix the size of the quotation marks around the quotes, they are way too big and interfere with the pages' format. Thank you. Doug86 talk to me 01:34, November 14, 2011 (UTC)
Redlinks on Dark Skin
On the light skin (white background), this template is very clear. But on the dark skin (dark blue background), the links are very pale blue and hard to read, but the redlinks are almost impossible with a very light shade of pink. The best option might be to change the background colour to something that works for both skins. --xensyriaT 14:48, June 11, 2017 (UTC)
