Rumours
- The 'Dream Lord' is rumoured to pretend to be the Doctor because of a shot of him inside the TARDIS wearing the Eleventh Doctor's costume in the trailer.
- Because of Simon Nye's involvement, this may be a comedic episode in the same vein as The Unicorn and the Wasp.
- When teasing the new series, Steven Moffat mentioned a character he called 'The Dream Lord,' this character could possibly make an appearance, as the episode deals with a strange dream.
- Other theorise that the 'Dream Lord' might be The Trickster, once more attempting to cause chaos by manipulating events. (Although The Trickster speaks to people who are about to die or who have died) This could be possible though, as Amy may die after giving birth to her child, thus the reason that the Trickster may be able to interfere. It could also be another member of The Trickster's Brigade. However, considering the type of show Doctor Who is and its audience, it is unlikely that an episode would feature Amy dying in childbirth.
- It is likely that this shall serve as the Series' Doctor-lite episode similar to Turn Left in the 2008, to mirror the Companion-lite eleventh episode
