Netherlands

The Netherlands (sometimes known as Holland) was a nation in Europe.

Dutch was the term used to describe people and organisations from the Netherlands, (AUDIO: The Waters of Amsterdam) as well as from Holland. (PROSE: The Roundheads)

History

Early history

19th century

Dutch soldiers were among the Allied army which opposed Napoléon Bonaparte in 1815. The Battle of Waterloo took place on 18 June and ended in victory for the Allies. (PROSE: World Game)
