Masri was sent by the Earth Antiquities Committee to Ulkesh to work with a group of astrohistorians, including Haruko Otaka, who, unbeknownst to Masri, became trapped in a total immersion suite without realising it. After receiving a transmission about armageddon from Otaka, he met with Bernice Summerfield on the Brendisi Star to enlist her help.
Masri and Benny travelled to the Horizon and entered the total immersion suite to save Otaka, although they lost their memory of having entered the suite and believed that they were on Ulkesh. They found and rescued Otaka and left the suite, with Masri deciding to secure funds for a reflective shield to protect those still aboard the Horizon from the Tippler Nebula's effects.
