Arden was an archaeologist working at Brittanicus Base. While working on the glacier with his assistants Walters and Davis, setting up a seismograph probe, they discovered the body of the Ice Warrior Varga and brought it back to the base.
Arden and Jamie McCrimmon were sent by Leader Clent to spy on the Ice Warrior ship and to learn what kind of propulsion system it had. They were attacked by Varga and Zondal. Arden was killed, though his body partially shielded Jamie from the shot, and Jamie was only temporarily paralysed. (TV: The Ice Warriors)
