Alix was the owner of Conlan & Co. Electronics, a black market alien technology dealership disguised as an electronics store.
Alix was in a dangerous line of work, and surrounded himself with bodyguards. When a real electronics salesman attempted to sell his merchandise on Conlan & Co.'s turf, Alix had him rendered comatose with the synthetic Kagawa Virus.
In 2009, Alix sold more of the Kawaga Virus to an alien, who he knew intended to use it on members of Torchwood Three. When Ianto Jones visited the Conlan & Co. premises Alix told him the antidote would cost half a million pounds, since he knew how desperate Ianto was.
Alix was eventually killed, along with his receptionist and a number of bodyguards, when Ianto took the antidotes by force and destroyed the Conlan & Co. premises with a Tregennan demolition bomb. (PROSE: Virus)
