Unlike other fictional universes, the Doctor Who universe is created solely by fiction. To us, this is not a valid source. Information from this source can only be used in "behind the scenes" sections, or on pages about real world topics.
The Doctor Who Crossword Book was another in a series of licensed quiz books published by Target Books who were better known for their series of novelisations. This book took the form of crosswords rather than quizzes.
Publisher's summary
The Great Intelligence trapped the whole of Central London inside one (3,2,4)
The Time Lords brought them together to fight Omega (3,5,7)
These are not the co-ordinates of some exotic planet or a coded message from outer space. They're just two of the clues to be found in the new Doctor Who Crossword Book.
Whether you're trapped in a time warp or caught in a traffic jam, why not add a new dimension to those wasted moments and enter the worlds of Doctor Who.
Subject matter
This book contains forty-five crosswords, each spread across two pages.
Notable features
- This title featured an Author's note stating:
- "With such a popular and long-running series as Doctor Who it is inevitable that discrepancies occur. Magazines, fanzines, books, articles and scripts have all at one time or another contradicted each other on the spelling of various words. For the purposes of this book all spellings are taken, wherever appropriate, from the Target novelisations of Doctor Who scripts. I would like to thank John Nathan-Turner, the BBC Doctor Who Office and especially Ian Levine for their invaluable assistance in compiling this book."
- Once again the cover used an image of a police box rather than the current/any Doctor and so did not need to pay additional fees for character likenesses.
Notes
- This title was released priced £1.25 (UK) and had a print run of 30,000 copies.
