Tim Atkinson was the son of Reg Atkinson.

Tim was originally able to resist the programme Surrender, Earthlings! and was a member of the Provisional Wing of the National Viewers and Listeners Association, which protested the "corruption" of the programme. The group "kidnapped" Nyssa when they noticed that she was resistant to the programme. The group met to consider plans, and it was decided they would blow up the BBC. However, on arriving at the studio, the group began watching the programme in the security kiosk, leaving Nyssa to solve the problem on her own. (PROSE: Not So Much a Programme, More a Way of Life)
