The breaking of the fourth wall, the placement of the characters among props from last episodes (including ones the Doctor couldn't possibly possess) suggests this, at its base, is no more canon than the 2013 BAFTA skit, barring any indication of it being a dream. I place it in the same category as the trailer for The Web of Fear in which the Second Doctor encouraged viewers to hold mummy and daddy's hands while watching the episode.
