Checkpoint Charlie was a military checkpoint in West Berlin, on the Berlin Wall, through which one could travel from East Germany to West Germany. On 10 October 1962, the British Intelligence operative Edward Grainger travelled to Checkpoint Charlie to meet an agent who was preparing to cross the Berlin Wall. (PROSE: Checkpoint)
