This template provides navigation for elements of Doctor Who as they exist in-universe.

Because it also provides SMW data, unusually for a navbox, you are instructed to use one or two variables, as necessary:

  • counterpart is for pointing to the real world page that covers the topic where you're placing this navbox. By default, it will simply automatically remove the dab term.
  • counterpart name is for overriding the output name. For instance, you'll want to use this for stories, in order to add italics. counterpart name=''{{StoryTitle}}'' will suffice. (Removing the dab term from counterpart is the default, so it is not necessary in those cases.)
  • Alternatively, you can use src to tell the template what medium the source is: tv or TV story; c, comic or comic story; a, audio or audio story; aa or audio anthology; n or novel; ss or short story; anth or anthology; w, wc or webcast; hmv, homevidor home video; vidg or video game; p or poem; series; doc or documentary; and ref or reference book. This will automatically generate the dab term and italics. However, this will not work correctly when further disambiguation is at play, or when quotation marks are required instead of italics.

If you have any questions, please reach out to SOTO, the administrator who added SMW support to this template.
