The Doctor on My Shoulder is a two-part online short story released in serialized form on the BBC's Doctor Who Website as part of the 2009 Adventure Calendar.
Summary
Shrunk down to the size of a doll, the Doctor enlists the help of a teenage boy to rescue a princess.

According to the Doctor's dialogue, this story was set after The Waters of Mars and before The End of Time.
Notes
- The Doctor on My Shoulder was published on the BBC's Doctor Who website on 17th and 23rd December 2009 as part of its Christmas themed Adventure Calendar.
- This is the last piece of new Tenth Doctor fiction to be officially published prior to the regeneration. One further piece of literary fiction is scheduled with this incarnation, NSA: Code of the Krillitanes, scheduled for publication in March 2010.
Continuity
- At the end, the Doctor says he's finally going to do something he's been putting off, presumably going to rendezvous with the Ood in DW: The End of Time.
- The Doctor refers to having been Father Christmas at times (DW: The Doctor Dances).
- The Doctor refers to the fact that at least the Christmas tree isn't trying to kill him (DW:The Christmas Invasion)
