Florence Nightingale, also known as the Lady with the Lamp, was a British nurse who was famously active during the Crimean War.
Biography
After the outbreak of the Crimean War, Florence Nightingale's movement encouraged many other women of high birth to enlist as nurses. Among them was Lady Sandra Cathcart, later a companion of the Time Lady Leora, who also made substantial monetary donations.
