Plant

A plant was a kind of life-form.

Around 10,000,000 AD, the Earth was in danger of falling into the Sun. The entire human, Monoid, animal and plant population of the planet was loaded onto the Ark, a gigantic spacecraft, to take them to a new home on Refusis II. (TV: The Ark)

Krynoids were sentient plants which could control normal plants. They fed on animals and nitrogen. They travelled through space in pods. When they landed on a planet, they grew and germinated, spreading until all animal life was eradicated. (TV: The Seeds of Doom)

The Master Plant, like the Krynoids, could control other plants. It was artificially created by Professor Rayner. When it had no further use for him, it killed the Professor. (COMIC: The Plant Master)

There was a large potted plant in the casino aboard the Vega Station (PROSE: Demontage)

The Raab were a plant species whose favoured habitat was low-gravity environments. They travelled through space and scattered their seeds when they impacted an asteroid or moon. Once they had grown to maturity, they would fire their seeds into space, to begin the cycle anew. (PROSE: Frontier Worlds)

The study of plants was called botany. (TV: Timelash)

During the Thousand Year War on Skaro, the nuclear and chemical fallout in the atmosphere mutated the varga plants and granted them mobility. (AUDIO: Purity) After the first generation of Daleks had detonated a neutron bomb, most plant life on the planet died, a jungle near the Dalek City becoming petrified. The only place on Skaro where plants could exist was on the high plateau that the Thal race had made their home. (PROSE: Dalek: The Astounding Untold History of the Greatest Enemies of the Universe) After the Thal-Dalek battle, the First Doctor noted that the planet's ecosystem was healing and that the jungle might see new plants one day. (TV: The Daleks) When he returned fifty cycles later, from Skaro's perspective, plants had started to grow in the jungle with vegetation, including varga plants, overtaking the empty Dalek City. (AUDIO: Return to Skaro)

Plants were not allowed to be stored at ELF Storage. (TV: Eve of the Daleks)
