Biography

Early life

Rose Tyler likens a childhood interaction with Tina to Robert Greene's rampage in 21st century London. (COMIC: A Groatsworth of Wit (part one) [+]Loading...{"part":"One","1":"A Groatsworth of Wit (comic story)"})

In her youth, Tina lived downstairs from the Tylers. She owned a Play-Doh Mop Top Hair Shop playset, which Rose Tyler was jealous of and stamped her foot in a fit. (COMIC: A Groatsworth of Wit (part one) [+]Loading...{"part":"One","1":"A Groatsworth of Wit (comic story)"})

Adult life

By Christmas 2006, she was a cleaner and had a lodger who was a medical student. Jackie Tyler "borrowed" a stethoscope from her, mentioning all this when using it on the newly-regenerated Tenth Doctor. In 2007, as Jackie was about to enter the Wash Inn, Tina was leaving D. M. Ash. She called to Jackie, and Jackie told her that she sould see her later at the Spinning Wheel for a pub quiz. Behind the scenes

  • Tina was first mentioned in the 2005 Doctor Who Magazine comic story A Groatsworth of Wit [+]Loading...["A Groatsworth of Wit (comic story)"]. While Tina was subsequently referenced on television by Jackie Tyler in The Christmas Invasion [+]Loading...["The Christmas Invasion (TV story)"], due to that episode's premiere being just over a month later, the prior mention in Groatsworth was probably a subtle and planned tease to the television episode, instead of the television series referencing the expanded media in its own right.
  • The woman who Jackie talked to outside the Powell Estate in the 2006 episode Love & Monsters [+]Loading...["Love & Monsters (TV story)"] was not identified as Tina, but rather the connection was established in Doctor Who: The Encyclopedia [+]Loading...["Doctor Who: The Encyclopedia (reference book)"]. It is currently unknown if this connection was retroactive or was revealing something intended during production but ultimately never added into the final cut.
