Aside from the many references to 42 in the story, the action appears to take place in realtime making this a Doctor Who version of '24' - something I'm sure the producers were aware of when they came up with the title.

Synopsis

In a distant galaxy, in the 42nd century, a spaceship hurtles out of control towards a boiling sun.   • 42 is the approximate length of a new Doctor Who episode.
  • Elvis Presley died aged 42.
