Commander Stark was a Sontaran Commander. He, and the rest of the Sontaran race, were part of the Alliance alongside the Daleks, Cybermen, Autons, Silurians and more of the Doctor's enemies planning to trap him in the Pandorica, believing him to be the one who is causing the cracks in the universe. (DW: The Pandorica Opens / The Big Bang)

He was destroyed when the TARDIS exploded nonetheless. The Doctor later managed to prevent this, resulting in the Alliance never having been formed in the first place. (DW: The Big Bang)

Behind the scenes

  • From his physical appearance it is likely that Stark shares the same genetic lineage as General Staal, both cloned from the same genetic sample. Although this cannot be verified, they were both portrayed by the same actor, Christopher Ryan. Unlike Stark, Staal had a miniature beard.
