Please see/doc is for notifying people to an ongoing suggestion at a forum thread. It is the preferred way of getting people to participate in a discussion, as it uses entirely neutral language and is much faster than typing out individual messages. It should be used on user talk (and possibly article talk) pages only. Unlike the Wikipedia version of this same template, it is not {{subst:ed}}, but rather works like an ordinary template.
