The latest series (AUDIO: Dead Ringers - 17th May [+]Loading...["Dead Ringers - 17th May (audio story)"]) of a well-known series which featured the Doctor's TARDIS and the Dalek (AUDIO: Dead Ringers - 31st May [+]Loading...["Dead Ringers - 31st May (audio story)"]) had no Daleks, but several musical numbers, which the Fifteenth Doctor felt were meant to "pad [those] episode[s] out".

The Doctor chased the Daleks down, and demanded answers. They explained that they could not fight him in the current series because he is now a gay black man, and they are afraid of getting "cancelled" by the "woke mob"; some of whom would discuss it on Twitter.

Finally, they relented, agreeing to exterminate the Doctor, but only so long as no one would know. When he cited poor ratings figures for this series, the Daleks began chanting "exterminate", and fired. (AUDIO: Dead Ringers - 17th May [+]Loading...["Dead Ringers - 17th May (audio story)"])

Behind the scenes

The 2024 series, otherwise known as season 1, did indeed have multiple musical numbers (in TV: The Church on Ruby Road [+]Loading...["The Church on Ruby Road (TV story)"] and TV: The Devil's Chord [+]Loading...["The Devil's Chord (TV story)"]), and notably did not feature the Daleks.

The claims about ratings (in the streaming age) and episodes being "padded out" (when many had significant moments cut out, in fact) can be disputed.

Later references

In the following Doctor Who sketch, AUDIO: Dead Ringers - 31st May [+]Loading...["Dead Ringers - 31st May (audio story)"], the Daleks again discuss the series in-universe, and vaporise Ryan for not liking the episodes with the Daleks in them, since they're "rubbish aliens". He much prefers the design of the Borg.
