The Pterosaurs (or Pterodactyls) were a type of winged reptiles native to Earth from the late Triassic to the late Cretaceous. They were wiped out, along with the dinosaurs, by a time-traveling space freighter. (DW: Earthshock)

One type of Pterosaur was brought to the 20th century during Operation Golden Age. They were used for general chaos and to help guard the base. (DW: Invasion of the Dinosaurs)

On New Jupiter in the Prehistoric Zone of EarthWorld there is a Pterosaur. (EDA: EarthWorld)

Another type, the Pteranodon, had one individual brought to 20th century Cardiff by the Cardiff Rift. This Pteranodon was captured by Torchwood 3 and kept as a mascot. The Pterodactyl attacked the Cyberwoman inside the hub. Ianto Jones and Jack Harkness were the original capturers of the beast. (TW: Everything Changes/Cyberwoman/Fragments)

In an alternate universe, an especially large type of Pterosaur was used by the Silurians as a steed. With a 40 foot wingspan, it could easily carry a Silurian. They were used as war steeds in times of battle and would cling to the side of the airships. (NA: Blood Heat)

A zoo on an unnamed planet acquired a Pterosaur or a Pterosaur-like creature. (TVC: The Didus Expedition)

The Pterosaur was also native to the planet Raxas, and along with the other Raxas dinosaurs, proved to be more than a match for a Dalek attack. They picked up Daleks, grabbing them between their feet, flying high into the air and dropping them to their deaths on the rocks below. (DWBIT: #7)
