Lucy Cartwright was walking home from a party with a red balloon when one of the Scarecrows from Mr Clark's field kidnapped her and took her to the Family of Blood's invisible spaceship, where Daughter of Mine took over her body, killing her. Lucy's parents, realising Daughter of Mine was not their child, were swiftly killed – though this was never seen, only mentioned.
