Hypnosis or mind control was the ability to place others into a suggestible state, such that they would obey the commands of the hypnotist or believe what the hypnotist told them. Some forms of hypnosis were stronger than others. Memory erasure or alteration also could be accomplished hypnotically. The Doctor explained hypnosis was limited and could not make someone kill themself. (DW: The Christmas Invasion) The King Vampire was able to hypnotize the Three Who Rule into 1000 years of service and, in turn give them the power of hypnosis. Hypnosis could be used to induce a trance-like state of near-death. (DW: State of Decay)
