The University of Oxford a.k.a. Oxford University was located in the English town of the same name.
Students
- Oscar Wilde read Classics there (at Magdalen) in the late 19th century.

- Former British Prime Ministers Harold Wilson and Edward Heath both attended Balliol, as did scientist Richard Dawkins.
