Bruce was an ambulance driver living in 1999 San Francisco. He unknowingly took the Master (in morphant form) home with him. The Master possessed his body, killing it and taking it over. The Master also acquired Bruce's American accent. Bruce's body was eventually sucked into the Eye of Harmony in the Doctor's TARDIS and presumeably, destroyed.
