One of Goronwy's beehives with Bees circulating. (DW: Delta and the Bannermen)

Bees were a species of insects native to Earth. They were similar to the bees native to Melissa Majoria. (DW: The Stolen Earth) The Doctor was rather fond of Bees. (DW: The Robots of Death)

Many bees lived in colonies, collecting pollen to be created into honey. Bees were domesticated by Humans for their honey. They were a hive society with a fertile queen, male drones, and infertile female workers. A larva develops into a queen if fed royal jelly. They are commonly contained in beehives. (DW: Delta and the Bannermen)

It was aerodynamically impossible for bumblebees to fly, yet they did it. (DW: The Robots of Death)

This is an urban legend.

In 1959, Goronwy kept bees. He gave the Doctor a jar of his rare 1928 hibiscus blossom. The Bannermen invaded his honey store and were covered in the substance, this caused the bees to attck them. (DW: Delta and the Bannermen)

In 2009, the bees from Melissa Majoria were leaving Earth, making it seem like the bees were dying out. (DW: Partners in Crime, Planet of the Ood,"The Unicorn and the Wasp, Turn Left, The Stolen Earth)

In the Real World, the bee population of Earth is seriously dropping.
