Colonel Tia Karim was the UNIT representative chosen to inform Sarah Jane Smith of the death of the Doctor. Once she accepted to come to the funeral, along with Rani Chandra and Clyde Langer, Tia showed them around the UNIT base. It was later revealed that she was in league with the Claw Shansheeth of the 15th Funeral Fleet
