Maneki Neko were a type of traditional cat statue originating in Japan. After stealing the Cup of Athelstan from the International Gallery, Christina de Souza left a Maneki Neko in its place as a calling card. (DW: Planet of the Dead)

The script never calls the object a Maneki Neko statue, but it is self-evidently one.
