The Tethered Aerial Release Developed In Style (abbreviated TARDIS). Unlike its namesake, it was a hot-air balloon, created for Jackson Lake while he was under the impression that he was the Doctor. When piloted by the Doctor, it was key in the destruction of the CyberKing. (DW: The Next Doctor)

Behind the scenes

In a continuity error, the balloon was described by Jackson Lake as being powered by gas, which he stated he regularly bought from a nearby gasworks plant for "a minor fee". Yet when piloted by the Doctor, it was powered by only hot air. (However it should be remembered that Jackson is still under the influence of the infostamp and, believing himself to be the Doctor, he might have believe the balloon was filed with gas when it was only hot air). You need something to burn to create hot air, so he used gas for fuel
