A Beetle was an Earth car manufactured in the 20th and 21st centuries by Volkswagen.

The Doctor had a Volkswagen Beetle that fit into an alcove in the TARDIS, which he drove, and let Sam Jones drive, on numerous occasions. (EDA: Vampire Science, Longest Day, Seeing I) The Doctor traded it to a Faction Paradox cultist in 2002 for information. It was, supposedly, taken back in time and melted down to create the car, thereby creating a paradox. (EDA: Unnatural History)

Mickey Smith drove a Volkswagen Beetle in 2005, but had replaced it with a Mini by 2006. (DW: Rose, The Parting of the Ways)

Sarah Jane used to drive a Volkswagen Beetle called Ethel, which was blown up. (BFSJS: Comeback) Ethel was repaired some time before 2010 — or Sarah Jane bought an entirely different Beetle — in time for Sarah Jane to give her son a yellow Beetle in which to go to university. (SJA: The Nightmare Man)

While living in New York in 1965, Kathy Marchant owned an orange Beetle. (PDA: Salvation)
