King Louis XV (15th February 1710 - 10th May 1774) ruled as King of France from 1st September 1715 until his death. He was the lover of Reinette in her later life and was dubious about the Doctor until he was saved by him from the Clockwork Droids.
When the Doctor arrived back in France in 1764, it was in time to see Reinette's hearse leaving Versailles for the last time, and the King gave the Doctor a letter from his mistress. (DW: The Girl in the Fireplace)
"Louis Quinze" or "Louis XV style" is the name of a rococo luxury furniture style named in honour of Louis.
