The Philippines was an island-formed nation in the Pacific Ocean and part of southeastern Asia.
In 2059, the Philippines was rumoured to be working on a Mars rocket. Margaret Cain thought a surprise visitor to Bowie Base One might be a Filipino astronaut. (DW: The Waters of Mars)
In 5000, the country was part of World War VI. They ended it when the Filipino Army marched on Reykjavik and liberated it from the Supreme Alliance. The Doctor marched alongside them and witnessed the final battle.(DW: The Talons of Weng-Chiang)
