John Freeman was the senior editor for Doctor Who Classic Comics. As editor of Doctor Who Magazine, he successfully negotiated purchase of publishing rights from London and North Surrey Newspapers (now owned by Trinity Mirror) to all the Doctor Who comic strips published in TV Comic, Countdown, and TV Action, and in 1992 Marvel UK launched Doctor Who Classic Comics - collections of strips from those titles and, later, strips from Doctor Who Weekly and Doctor Who Monthly. Some issues also included "Telesnap" features, publishing off air images from missing-presumed-wiped Doctor Who TV stories from the 1960s.
