Alan Dale (born 6 May 1947) played Aaron Copley in Reset. He has had several successful roles in television, including appearing as one of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in The West Wing. In North America, he is probably best known for his role as recurring guest star Charles Widmore on Lost.

Trivia

Both the characters he played in Torchwood and Lost are killed by a gun fired by a main character. Aaron Copley is killed with a gunshot to the head from Jack Harkness, and Charles Widmore dies from being shot by his longtime enemy, Benjamin Linus.
