Mrs Pritchard was formerly the wife of George Pritchard and mother to Gwendoline until Josiah Samuel Smith took their home, Gabriel Chase. Smith removed all knowledge of her relationship with her daughter from Mrs. Pritchard (whom Smith made his ward). When she began to realise the truth, Light, the alien being who had recently awoken, who hated change, turned both Gwendoline and her mother into stone statues. (DW: Ghost Light)
