Landing near a creepy [[alien]] castle, the [[Tenth Doctor|Doctor]] and [[Rose Tyler|Rose]] split up to explore, but Rose, entering a room filled with [[mirror]]s, is snatched by her evil reflection. She finds herself in another dimension filled of Mirrorlings, creatures waiting for their chance to escape using the mirrors to take on a new life and replace the originals, all of whom are stuck along with Rose - some for as long as fifty years! As the Mirrorling-Rose prepares to leave in the TARDIS with the Doctor, a band of locals arrive and warn them not to enter the house. The Doctor and Rose are told that for years people had come out of the house somehow different people. When they realised it had something to do with mirrors, they collected them all and locked them in the house. Breaking the mirrors simply breaks any link and traps the people forever. When Rose shows no interest in solving the mystery, preferring to leave in the TARDIS, the Doctor knows something is wrong and returns to the house to find the real Rose. Using himself as bait, he lures the Mirrorlings out of the mirrors but uses his [[sonic screwdriver]] to stop them from fully stepping through.
