Microsoft was a business corporation founded in 1975 by Bill Gates that sold computer hardware and software and rose to particular prominence in the last two decades of the 20th century and into the early 21st.
In 1996, Microsoft manufactured android versions of Frankenstein's Monster, Dracula, and the Grey Lady for the Festival of Ghana. (DW: The Chase) The company later underwent investigation for building dangerous robots. (EDA: Interference - Book One)
Behind the scenes
The original 1965 serial The Chase does not identify Microsoft as the maker of the robots -- indeed the company wasn't even established for another decade. This was later subject to a retcon in a novel.
