The Pharos Project was a scientific research installation based on Earth with the goal of contacting alien intelligences.
A replica of the Pharos Project was created by the Logopolitans through Block Transfer Computation. They used it to relay signals that opened the CVEs, programming them to shunt entropy out of N-Space and into E-Space. (DW: Logopolis)
There may be a connection between the Pharos Project and the Pharos Institute as both had similar names and goals. (SJA: The Lost Boy)
