After the events of The Runaway Bride, Donna is shown to be living back at home with her mother and her grandfather, Sylvia is shown to be trying to persuade Donna to get a job and find a place of ther own. On a night out with her friends, one of them (Suzette Chambers) starts producing Adipose infants as do other customers, Sylvia is witness to the Adipose spaceship picking up the Adipose hoarde. When Donna decides to travel with the Doctor, she doesn't tell Sylvia where she is going, she instead leaves Sylvia's car keys in a bin for Sylvia to pick up later. (DW: Partners in Crime)
