Martha Tyler was an old woman who lived in the 1970s. She was a practising white witch and could read people's fortunes. This might have meant that she had psychic powers. She was the cook at the Fetch Priory but after a body was found, she could not work there for the owner, Dr. Fendelman. She helped her grandson, Leela and the Fourth Doctor defeat the Fendahl.
