Isaac Douglas Summerfield, husband of Claire Summerfield and father of Bernice Summerfield, was an admiral in the Human Alliance's Spacefleet. He had blond hair and was relatively short in stature.
Admiral Summerfield supposedly died in a space battle against the Daleks (NA: Love and War) on board his ship, the Tisiphone in the mid-26th century. Summerfield had, in fact, survived, as Bernice would later learn, and, now stranded in the English village of Little Caldwell in the second half of the twentieth century. Here, he helped stranded aliens and temporal refugees like himself, and tried to stay out of the way of The Doctor, whom he feared. Bernice and the Doctor found him here in 1983.
