Characters
References
- Does not disclose his identity to Ian and Barbara, but gives Ian some good news. (See Notes below.)
- Married to Barbara and has worked as a research scientist since the 1960s. However, Ian is feeling bitter that his workplace is now closing.
- Visited at home by a stranger she finds somehow familiar, who leaves for Ian a Coal Hill School tie -- no doubt to replace the one destroyed in an acid pool on Vortis. (DW: The Web Planet)
Notes
- It is London at the turn of the Millennium.
- Ace has gone shopping for Doc Martens.
- The monarch is male. According to the Seventh Doctor His Majesty will be re-opening Ian's workplace soon.
Continuity
- As is the case with most other stories depicting or describing Ian and Barbara's lives after they left the TARDIS in 1965 (DW: The Chase), they appear noticeably older, contradicting the rumour that they had not aged since the 1960s, as related by Sarah Jane Smith to Clyde Langer and Rani Chandra. Perhaps the rumour was just that! (SJA: Death of the Doctor)
