Gordon Seavers was a former pupil at the University of Oxford.
Biography
Gordon studied natural science for two years under Professor Sowerden. He was married to Mary Seavers. Gordon was blackmailed by Richard Harries who knew that Gordon had published under his own name, the works of a dead pupil from Oxford. This caused him to commit suicide, stabbing himself with a letter opener. John Hopkinson found the body and took a letter from the scene.
Inspector Hetton was assigned to his case; he passed it on to Inspector Ian Stratford.
Seavers was due at Banquo Manor to observe Harries' experiments. John chose not to tell the residents of his death; Stratford told them. John killed Harries in vengeance for Seavers, a friend of his. (EDA: The Banquo Legacy)
