Lord Ravensworth, was a wealthy landowner in the village of Killingworth. Together with George Stephenson he was going to sponsor a meeting of scientific and engineering geniuses. (DW: The Mark of the Rani)
Lord Ravensworth is, like Stephenson, an actual historical figure. He was Thomas Henry Liddell, 1st Baron Ravensworth
