Lieutenant Sorba was a Space Corps officer assigned to Space Beacon Alpha 4. It was seized by Maurice Caven's band of space pirates and he was taken prisoner. At first he assumed the Second Doctor to be in league with the pirates, but later decided to trust him. Shortly afterwards, he was shot and killed by Caven. (DW: The Space Pirates)
