Metella Caecilius Iucundus, wife of Caecilius and mother of Quintus and Evelina, was a woman who lived in Pompeii in 79 AD. She is the most religiously devout of her family: she urges her son to pray to their household gods, and encourages her daughter's psychic gift as a gift from the gods. Like her family, Metella is rescued from Pompeii shortly before the city is buried under the askes of Mount Vesuvius' explosion. By 80 A.D., she and her family are living in Rome. Metella, religious as ever, is worshipping a new set of household gods: the Doctor and Donna. (DW: The Fires of Pompeii)
