Myths
The Cybermen may be in this episode, and it is said that The Master may be helping Davros. It is unlikely that the Cybermen are in this episode as they are actually set to make an appearance in the 2009 Christmas special during events that occur because of (and after events of) those in Journey's End and The Master is terrified of the Daleks as he said in The Sound of Drums.
Rumours
- Davros's second in command is a Red Dalek Supreme, rumoured to be Dalek Caan upgraded or a mutated Harriet Jones. unlikely to be Dalek Caan, as pictures have shown a dalek that has been battered and the top half destroyed, rumoured to be Caan. Agreed, though there is a possibilty the Red Dalek could be a new casing designed to house Caan's weak inner body.
- The Doctor gets trapped in the Medusa Cascade, and Rose, Donna, Martha, Jack, Mickey and Sarah Jane must try to free him.
- In a shock development the Red Dalek casing opens to reveal Harriet Jones as mother of all the new Daleks. Unlikely as the Daleks have no need for a 'mother' figure in their society, and human genetic materials on such a small scale would not aid them in creating new Daleks (the Dalek emperor made one Dalek out of every human. Plus on the trailer for THE STOLEN EARTH Harriet jones was shown as a human and not a dalek)
- Martha joins Captain Jack at Torchwood. Possible, as reports show Martha and Mickey leaving with Jack at the end of the episode. Also it is known that as of Exit Wounds, Jack needs a medic to replace Owen Harper. However it is uncertain whether it is the end of the episode or during.
- Mickey joins Captain Jack at Torchwood. As the above, possibly to replace Toshiko Sato, as he has been known for his talents of hacking into secure government systems, such as in The Christmas Invasion when he hacked into the UNIT database. However it is uncertain whether it is the end of the episode or during.
- RTD has hinted that Rose and the Doctor may get to finish their last interrupted conversation on Bad Wolf bay.
- Apparently Donna does something terrible, and walks under a car, losing her memory of the Doctor. But the Doctor says not to say anything to her about what she did because she couldn't live with herself if she knew what she had done. Possible, as there was a scene filmed where the Doctor talks to Wilf about Donna before returning to the TARDIS alone. However, the "car" rumour may refer to Turn Left, in which Donna is hit by a lorry
- It is rumoured that one of the companions will die. Some believe it will be Rose; some say it will be Donna (Killed in a car crash), and some think it will be Martha (In reference to the omen conversation between Martha and her clone in The Poison Sky.)
- Caan finds Davros, but his only reward is to be chained up, cloned to create a new Dalek army, and tortured.
- At the the end of the episode Caan breaks free and exterminates Davros.
- The Medusa Cascade unleashes The master along with the original series cybermen and the Judoon are killed trying to fight them. The pale women in the next time trailer is a prisoner they were transporting. Not true, as the pale women are in fact the keepers of the Shadow Proclimation. Also, the cybermen are set to make their next appearance in the 2009 christmas special because of (and after) the events in THE STOLEN EARTH. (As well as this, the Doctor wouldn't want to let such a deadly enemy escape just so he could wait to fight them at christmas!)
Donna will sacrifice herself to seal the Medusa Cascade but the Doctor goes back in time to wipe her memory of the events in the Runaway Bride so she won't come looking for him and therefore die
