| === Story notes ===
| |
| Gwen Cooper and Ianto Jones cross over from Torchwood. Luke Smith from The Sarah Jane Adventures also cross over.
| |
| A clip on Blue Peter showed Sarah Jane, Mickey Smith, Jackie Tyler and others held captive by the Daleks. They were to be taken to "The Crucible" which made Sarah Jane believe that they were "One step closer to the Doctor", implying his fate is, at this point, unknown.

| ===Rumours===
| |
| *The Doctor gets trapped in the Medusa Cascade, and Rose, Donna, Martha, Jack, Mickey and Sarah Jane must try to free him.
| |
| *Martha joins Captain Jack at Torchwood. Possible, as reports show Martha and Mickey leaving with Jack at the end of the episode. Also it is known that as of Exit Wounds, Jack needs a medic to replace Owen Harper. However it is uncertain whether it is the end of the episode or during.
| |
| *Mickey joins Captain Jack at Torchwood. As the above, possibly to replace Toshiko Sato, as he has been known for his talents of hacking into secure government systems, such as in The Christmas Invasion when he hacked into the UNIT database. However it is uncertain whether it is the end of the episode or during.
| |
| *It is rumoured that one of the companions will die. Some believe it will be Rose; some say it will be Donna (As Rose said she would), and some think it will be Martha
